Christopher Hazel

Biography
My archaeological fieldwork experience spans the entire prehistoric to historic periods in the U.S., with specialization in documenting historic cemetery demography and pathology as well as prehistoric upland short-term occupations. Since 1992 I have worked with over twenty previously unexamined skeletal populations, documenting osteological data with a particular focus on infectious disease and metabolic disturbance. Many of these populations would otherwise never have been analyzed. Since 1996 I have recorded over one hundred upland sites, many in previously undocumented locales testing current theories of prehistoric site distribution.

Murat O’Hara
Biography
Murat has traveled and worked across three continents and is an experienced professional archaeologist with projects spanning the Northeast. He has a particular interest in North Country historic and prehistoric farmsteads but has also conducted volunteer battlefield archaeology. He specializes in road survey equipment through his company BLUECAT CYCLES.

Joel Rabinowitz
Biography
After obtaining his B.A. from Cornell University in 1973, Joel attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied anthropology and archaeology. His fieldwork included three months in Peru, where he and colleagues conducted a survey of archaeological sites in the upper Chicama River valley. He received his M.A. in 1980. Joel’s career has mostly been in the field of institutional advancement for higher education. He worked in the development offices of both Cornell University and Ithaca College. At Ithaca College he served as Manager of Prospect Research and Tracking. Since 2004, he has worked with HAZEx on cultural resource management archaeological projects. Joel’s volunteer work has included serving on the board of the Finger Lakes Land Trust and Greensprings Natural Cemetery Association.

Jonathan Gunderlach
Biography
After obtaining his B.A. from James Madison in 1999, Jon attended graduate school at Cornell University, where he studied public hisotry. His fieldwork included architectural survey of properties in the City of Binghamton, New York. Since 2007, he has worked with HAZEx on cultural resource management archaeological projects. Jon’s volunteer work has included helping with the formation of the Ithaca City Cemetery Association.

Samuel Trechter
Biography
Sam has worked in the investigation and communication of historical information for over half a decade and continues to inform the public throughout central New York and the Ithaca area specifically.
